Utility Warehouse: an Innovative Home Services Provider

Utility Warehouse is a completely unique utilities provider. The UK’s only genuine multiservice provider, the company aims to provide customers with substantial savings and reduce the hassle associated with coordinating utilities payments by providing multiple services bundled together into one, monthly bill. Established in 2002 by Telecom Plus, Utility Warehouse currently serves over 650,000 customers across the UK.

People First

Utility Warehouse is dedicated to its customers, employees, and Partners. Founded with the aim to make its customers’ lives simpler by saving them time and money on their home services, UW has expanded from its original service offerings – energy, broadband, and home phone – to include mobile phone and insurance options, as well as a cash back card to help customers save even more. When customers bundle services, they can expect more savings – up to £185 a year with the best savings bundle. UW will even pay up to £200 to help new customers leave their current utilities providers. The company also recently announced its Peace of Mind Promise, which, in addition to the £200 to help you switch, will give new customers up to 30 days to change their minds on switching with no penalties, as well as the opportunity to double the difference after 12 months with UW if they don’t save.

Utility Warehouse currently has roughly 1,400 employees, and champions diversity, rewards strong performance, and provides a safe, supportive, and exciting working environment for all of its employees.

Utility Warehouse also provides unique earning opportunities for its Partners. UW Partners are independent contractors who help sign on new customers, earning a commission for every new customer they bring to UW. Partners can set their own hours and earnings goals, and receive training, marketing materials, and ongoing support.

Environmental Focus

Utility Warehouse is committed to having a positive impact on the environment. The company provides free smart meters (and smart meter installation) to all customers. Customers who already have smart meters fitted use less energy, saving over 24,600 tonnes of CO2 per year. For customers that bundle all of UW’s services, the company provides 100% renewable energy, as well as a tree planted in the customer’s name.

What’s more, The UW Foundation – Utility Warehouse’s nonprofit organisation founded in 2020 – is partnered with both Carbon Forest and Ocean Generation to support their environmental-improvement efforts.

Awards and Recognition

It isn’t surprising that Utility Warehouse has received substantial recognition for its services and customer support. In 2020, the company won the Utilities Brand of the Year Award from Which?, a self-proclaimed “champion of consumers” that provides consumers with unbiased reviews on a wide variety of businesses to help them make informed decisions on their purchases. This wasn’t UW’s first win, either – the company took home the big prize in 2018 as well.

In addition to receiving the 2020 Which? Utilities Brand of the Year Award, the company has also received awards from Uswitch, Moneywise, Defaqto, Moneyfacts, and the European Business Awards.
